I disagree Dorian. They’ve had generations to hone their brainwashing, and from what I have seen and heard of N.Korea, it is all pervasive. When you control what people see and hear you can really mess with them. The human mind is a malleable thing. As hard as it is to imagine, with enough brutality, sensory control, and time, you can make a mother murder her own child and actually love you for it. Maybe the first generation might have had a spark of fire in them, but by now it would appear they have successfully enacted 1984 in N.Korea.

You are probably right that people in North Korea are somewhat brainwashed, but I wouldn’t sell the human spirit and its longing for freedom and the “pursuit of happiness” short. If there is any so-called “true love” for the Glorious Leader and for the Party I would hazard to guess that it is totally pretend/fake love, induced by sheer fear and oppression. I also would hazard to predict that, given the chance, the so-called love of the people there would turn in an instant into hate and revenge.

Just my two cents.

They are brainwashed. Ever read 1984? Its for real over there. I saw a documentary where an American doctor was allowed in to do basic eye surgery. This doctor fixes this old man’s eyes so he can see again for the first time in years, the guy immediately finds a poster of “Glorious Leader”, praises him for restoring his sight and wishes for a rifle so he can shoot Americans. They truly love Big Brother over there. With enough manipulation you can make people think and do anything. And they do.

Actually, N.Korea is a hell on earth, where the people are mass brainwashed and treated like cattle, and they like it. Thats how messed up it is there. There is nothing funny at all about N.Korea.
