UPDATE :Zimmerman in Custody and is Charged with Second Degree Murder:

Apr 11, 2012 by

The announcement of second-degree murder which if found guilty of charge =25 years min without parole to life without parole. You cannot charge first-degree without going to a grand jury in Florida. She threw the book, it seems. Has to show a depraved attitude toward Trayvon in order to make a 2nd degree stick. The full evidences will tell the story.

Florida has ‘sunshine law’… hold yourself tight for more potential circus if the judge as we’ve seen in past highly publicized/televised cases loses his or her professional demeanor… for the Florida sunshine law means cameras WILL be in the courtroom.

Zimmerman turned himself in voluntarily it is said, has a new attorney, is being held without bond at present, and will be arraigned likely tomorrow morning. Asking for bond and promoting Zimmerman as ‘no flight risk’ because he surrendered, will occur, likely.

_________________________________________
Previous article entered this morning here at TMV: This comes after Zimmerman’s attorneys, bizarrely grandstanding on television and on CNN, withdrew from the case, citing their inability to contact Zimmerman, Zimmerman remaining out of touch with them.

Lawyers Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig on Tuesday gave absurdly unqualified opinions (in my opinion) about Zimmerman’s emotional state (normally, a proper intake and interview by a qualified psychiatrist or pyschologist would be required.) THe lawyers also speculated on television about Zimmerman’s physical well-being. They listed his taking actions such as setting up his own website to defend himself and ask for money to defend himself… without consulting them.

They claim they do not know where Zimmerman is.

“You can stop looking in Florida,” Uhrig told reporters. “Look much further away than that.”

That kind of coy reply about whereabouts, while exposing their client to others’ interpreting Zimmerman as mentally unbalanced, could be the hawkings of two very dull-witted attorneys who dont understand the ethics of lawyering, or it could be the most crass set up –to make Zimmerman seem like a frightened, traumatized, mentally unfit person… for the criminal charges they thought might come soon.

Or it could be something else altogether, but the point would be, What charges specifically? (presumably to be announced this afternoon) And where exactly to deliver those charges in person habeus corpus, since sounds like Zimmerman has booked. With knowledge by his ‘former’ now tv personality, lawyers.

We shall see.

And see we have, Zimmerman has a new attorney, no bond at present, and

Glad to see, finally, a concrete action by Fl.
This is how it should have been done weeks ago.
BTW: Ms. Corey, the special prosecutor, sounds terrific and is as sharp as a tack.

Corey, claims there was an investigation under way when all the publicity hit. My question is since he was completely free, what would have prevented him from taking a vacation in Namibia (no extradition treaty).

Boy, that SYG law seems worse and worse. At least Corey has stated that the prosecution would fight SYG as a defense, as they have done in other cases.

If all those concerned people down in Fl. would protest the real villain in this, SYG, and the delay of proprietorial action, that would be doing some real good.

The real incompetents were the Sanford police. This prosecutor is haunted by the Cassey Anthony case. In this case there is a lot more direct evidence, lets hope Corey handles this better than Jeff Ashton(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Baez_%28lawyer%29)

Glad to hear there is only one “incompetent” police dept. in the country facing SYG. Without SYG they might have arrested him. You can’t ask cops to be competent lawyers while they are also doing police work. However, the local DA should have caught this case.

I keep hearing the “blame” being placed on the SYG law but according to what is reportedly GZ’s story the SYG law only comes into effect in that by claiming self defense the state must disprove the claim. That the State must prove their case hardly seems an unreasonable burden to me. Now if there is some other aspect that I’m missing or if GZ’s story is disproved then that’s different but it seems many people are trying to make political hay out of Martins death.

I can’t wait to see the make-up of the jury once it gets to trial.
