Dear Brave Souls: That is just the signature greeting I use in my work as an author to speak to others on my facebook page and in my spoken word audio and books… because it is how I see most often, and also to offset the proliferation in our cultures of the too often seen, ‘listen here you s.o.b.’
Thus, Dear Brave Souls: There are many festivals and holy rituals at this time of year: One is Passover: The release from slavery in a land not of one’s own making, a time to remember the bitter and the sweet of freedom… a time to go quickly, so quickly toward new life that though one does take the seed and the flour, one does not wait for the bread to rise… just takes the makings and partakes in order to live simple… in order to simply live.
Another is the Resurrection of The God of Love who had been arrested, mocked, lacerated and beaten to near dead, then crucified, then died, then entombed… but then rose from the dead.
Both miracle stories with different meanings to different people. I’d like to offer to those of you the beautiful pure storylines of these los dos cuentos milagros, two miracle stories, even if you have been hurt or otherwise turned away from the ‘organization’ surrounding… do not throw away these stories, nor any life-giving story for the Soul. We all have our preferences about this and that, but at core, we are all seeking the elemental, and as we gather more years, a meaningful kinship with all beings possible. I say ‘possible’ for I am still working on this myself.
The precious elementals of la lucha, struggle and certain progresses, I believe are found in stories, in music, in dance, in art, in real work, in nature, and often… in each other.
I send love to you, Blessed Easter, and Chag Pessach Samaiach V’ Kasher. This day is not about today. It is about long ago-today… brought to us by our ancestors who withstood the plagues, who carried our people on litters to freedom, who carried the broken body of the God of Love to shelter. These are just some of the holy stories they gave us to carry, each one having elements of many other stories that have gone before them. Let us carry them with regard for the stories, and for the souls, even as some cannot, even as some never will. Let us.
so may it be for thee in thine own ways,
so may it be for me,
so may it be for all of us.
