I suspect the White House will have to stay in Democratic hands for 12 or even 16 years for the GOP to truly reform itself.

It’s one big reason I support Hillary; she’ll stimulate a long-needed revival on the Right.

We can certainly hope so. I have hoped she would be elected as early as possible for another reason, namely what adults (conservatives) do: not only defer gratification, but refuse to postpone the unpleasant, even harmful.
