This is really serious.
These are the kinds of things that are supposed to happen in Russia, or in parts of Africa, not here!
A nation of laws, indeed!
It’s one of the most alarming sign that something is sreriously wrong with US democracy, yet a scandal that almost nobody cares of. Why isn’t this story on the headlines of every paper, the TV news and a topic in the talkshows? Are US voters deaf, dumb and blind? Shocking.
Just as a sideline: Joe, while I’m a fan and occasional commenter at the great A-Blog, it would have been more fitting to link to the AlterNet story that Pam is citing

which is the leading site for all things elections.
And since the major news outlets are controlled by those who need to protect the illusion of democracy, these stories are not getting play in the mainstream media.
This kind of thing is the precise reason I don’t believe a Dem presidential victory in ’08 is the inevitability some believe it to be.
