I’ve been writing an article about huge multi-M$ grants given to study, what I imagine you and I, and many others think about as ‘common sense.’ You’re right, it is odd to see grant money which so many worthy projects go without, spent on finding out the equiv. of why people order the super-burger over the reg.

When I read about this research I felt like asking the researchers, “Did you really have to conduct a study to show that people have many reasons for having sex?” It strikes me as yet another case of scientists pointing out the obvious.
