But that was a very different Romney than the one currently running. I sincerely doubt the platform that Romney is using now will have any appeal beyond the Republican hard core. Romney, like Thompson is running on being identical to Bush while not actually being GWB. Romney's current incarnation wouldn't stand a chance of winning Massachusetts.
