Kooks Still Pursue Fluke (and Her Boyfriend, Too)

What further evidence do you need that our politics has now gotten so toxic, hateful and narrow in focus than the continued firestorm over Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke and her three day denunciation by Rush Limbaugh that led to Limbaugh losing a slew of sponsors (but it will not result in him going off the air)? Now some are going after Fluke’s boyfriend.

I’ve started to delete emails that I’m getting on Limbaugh in response to TMV posts and columns.

They have become highly predictable — and answering them is like talking to a turned off radio.

Most now contain this talking point: if anyone writes a post on Rush they must be foaming at the mouth liberals, socialists, and “sluts” (yes I’ve been called that in three emails) destroying the country and Obama henchmen (or henchwomen) unless they devote part of the post/article/column to Bill Maher and Chris Rock. I weakened and answered one of these anger fests noting that part of the problem here was that a) Fluke was an average person testifying before Congress, B) Limbaugh approached near slander in going after her for three days when any other talk show host would have stopped after one day or been pulled from the air, and c) Limbaugh did not accurately characterize her testimony. That brought a response about how I’d moan and groan in November because Barack Obama and the liberals and the socialists who supported him would all be defeated.

A few minutes ago I got an angry email from someone who said he didn’t want to pay for Fluke’sactive sex life. Which means he didn’t read her testimony and is merely parroting what he heard on talk radio or ideological cable or read on some conservative websites.

Others said a site can’t be moderate if it criticizes Rush’s comments. Another said (you guessed it) that unless each Rush post/story denounces Bill Maher and Chris Rock, the site is left wing Democrat. (Oh).So I pointed some people who say that to THIS POLL which is usually ignored or branded as rigged by liberals.

But the biggest sign of how our politics has now slipped into an unflushed toilet is an ongoing attack now against Fluke’s….boyfriend.

This includes the strong stench of antisemitism.

Rather than infect our website with more on this, I’ll point you HERE to read the latest and to follow their links.

But think about it:

–Fluke is still being attacked with allegations that have no basis in fact. Further evidence that for some talk show listeners facts don’t matter, just what a talk show host or fellow partisan says is a fact and what others in your political party say.

–To inflict more damage on Fluke, her boyfriend is targeted.

Not nice.

Not pretty.

And not politics.

It’s something else…

To be honest, after 9-11 Johnson and LGF was part of the vile Wingnut crowd. But recent events switched him over to the Socialist side. This is the same Johnson responsible for Pajamas Media. Now he’s attacked by the same people he helped to create.

These people sending you stuff are a*****, obviously, and I bet their counterparts on the left are doing the same.
It is a shame that “they” always over do it and show what is the basest part of this great country.

Unfortunately, the right seem to have more “innocent” targets like Fluke and friend, what next attacking her parents who DID NOT practice birth control.

No, I don’t consider Palin and Pelosi to be in the same league as Fluke, although she is an activist for “women’s rights”.

Oh, and I should mention Maher, who I will be watching tonight, so there you vermin on the right.

  • rudi

No they are attacking her boyfriend and his Marxist Jew family. Please show where the Left goes this batshit crazy!! They haven’t gotten to her parents countertops yet.

Thanks for seconding my point, rudi.

    Mr Webfoot

Did you go to “thegraph” and read that nonsense. I’m waiting for a burning cross graphic at the site. How many KKK dog whistkes in this BS:

Anyway, on to Adam’s “typical Democrat family”. The term BIll O’Reilly used to describe Bill Mutterperl is “Democratic stalwart”. However, as soon as I heard his name in a story about Sandra Fluke, I almost choked, due to my sudden epiphany. Why? Because anyone familiar with Boston and New York political history knows about the wealthy Mutterperl family’s long tradition of supporting the traditional Jewish variant of socialism. Bill Mutterperl’s family are much more than Democratic stalwarts.

The Wingnuts are doubling down after three days from the Dominican traveler…

Rudi, explain this to us: Miss Fluke’s boyfriend’s family is Jewish and Marxist? And if so??

  • merkin

And I thought D£S had left us. He just changed his screen name. Welcome back.

Once again D£S, bad behavior by others shouldn’t ever be used to justify your own or Rush’s bad behavior. Mother 101.

Good manners can go a long way.

  • merkin

I think that for many of these people this contraceptive argument is not a religious based one but more concerned with other people’s sex lives.. It is the Puritan desire to make everyone conform to the Puritan lifestyle. They are not happy just living it themselves, they want to force everyone else to live it too. This is the opposite of religious freedom.

  • dduck

M, what about the free part, doesn’t that raise issues. Why should Viagra, a so called “medicine” and Lipitor and everything else have a co-pay, but contraception not have a charge to the patient?

I have no problem, with whatever reason drugs are used for, I just think they should ALL have the same form of payment system by the insurance company providing the coverage. Yes, I think all employers should have to include everything in their plans. If they don’t let them set up their own plan without government funds being involved.

It is too bad Ms. Fluke had to exaggerate with the $1,000/year cost figure, it ruined her message further besides the free bit.

Yes, Rush was/is vile and his stuff was unwarranted.

  • DaGoat

There were plenty of comments on left-wing websites hoping Rush would die or be killed. Both sides have plenty of crazy zealots which is one reason I don’t care much for either side.

I’m definitely not defending Limbaugh, but I do get tired of both sides claiming moral superiority when neither deserves it.

Links please, I’m having a hard time finding any of these killer left-wing sites.

“Rudi, explain this to us: Miss Fluke’s boyfriend’s family is Jewish and Marxist? And if so??”

Hi Dr E — It’s not Rudi calling Fluke’s boyfriend a Jewish Marxist who is trying to bring the Jewish “leftwing agenda” to silence Rush; he’s saying that those making that sort of white supremacist argument (see Joe’s link above, which Rudi is referencing) are bad and extreme.

Ah, our good friend Dave is back yet again under a new non de plume to tell us about the vast feminist lefty conspiracy to silence the poor harmless white supremicists by making him shell out his money to pay for mean ladies to have sex (for *free*!), and insult the intelligence of everyone who thinks he’s full of it. Ah, just like the good ol’ days around here…

Since there are 11 minutes between our posts thankfully the “hard time” you experienced must have been fairly brief.

  • rudi

    @Dr. C
As roro80 commented, the LGF link above links to “thegraph.com” where the Wingnuts attack the boyfriend and his family in a vile anti-Semitic rant. Charles Johnson has posted a couple posts about this site taking Limpbaughs rant to an even uglier attack.

The spam filter ate my comments.

  • rudi

Another link at LGF ties the site JG mentions to an even worse individual.

    (damn spammer)
Tea Party loon “Brooks Bayne” was one of the subjects of this post earlier today: Right Wing Blogs Still Stalking and Spewing Hatred at Sandra Fluke.

Bayne launched an appallingly antisemitic attack against Fluke, by outing her boyfriend as … a Jew. A rich socialist liberal Jew, to be precise.

And tonight, this right wing caveman is defending himself against charges of antisemitism … by citing a book by a notorious antisemite, Kevin MacDonald. Amazing.

  • rudi

    Kevin MacDonald

Kevin MacDonald is an anti-Semitic tenured professor of evolutionary psychology at California State University, Long Beach, where he has worked since 1985. Couching his views as legitimate intellectual inquiry, MacDonald has asserted that anti-Semitism, including the anti-Jewish hatred exhibited by the Nazis and those who carried out the Spanish Inquisition, is a “rational” response to Judaism.

  • bluebelle

I still don’t get why instead of just saying that Rush went way too far and condemning his 3 day rants against a private individual — (the
decent thing to do) the right wing has to bring up every profane comment made by any one they perceive to be on the left. Are we keeping score now? I don’t like anyone who uses slurs in a comedy routine or in political commentary– but this goes beyond what has been said or done before. Also, no way is Rush any ordinary entertainer or comedian– no use pretending that he is on the same plane as Maher or Rock– altho I don’t condone any slurs they have used in the past either.

  • cjjack

    bluebell,

    “Are we keeping score now?”

    Yep. Pretty much.

If you’re offended by “the left’s” response to Rush Limbaugh, you can find someone from “the left” who said something more or less exactly as offensive.

Keep in mind that your search will include literally half the planet, so finding something outrageous will be easy.

And once you find that gem, your opponents will be able to sift through the comments of the other half of the planet to garner a response.

Both sides will of course be rushing to attribute the worst of what they dug up to the other side generally.

  • zephyr
