		<description>His faith needs to be an issue only insofar as his faith is likely to influence his policy, not more, not less. Religion shouldn&#039;t be off limits as an issue in a country where politicians make damn sure you never forget that they are a &quot;person of deep faith&quot;. You want your religion to be a part of your public persona? Fine, then you need to be ready and willing to answer questions about it. Someone as outspoken about being a vegetarian as most pols are about being religious would be asked what their relationship to cattle farmers and the meat industry in general would be, naturally enough. Hell, if an atheist had a shot at the presidency (not likely given the current level of prejudice) they&#039;d be asked &quot;where they get their morality&quot; and if they &quot;hate religions&quot; in the best of cases!

Now, it woud be inappropriate, or at least in bad taste, to question Romney about what kind of underwear he uses. The rule needs to be, you ask about something that clearly will affect policy decisions or diplomatic relations, the rest is his own damn business.</description>
