KR and Domjat – Congress passed a law making government officials immune from civil lawsuits. The judge didn’t say the case had no merits, just because of this law the Plames can’t sue. Will have to wait to see what Balkin says.

I don’t understand the ruling, either, Kimrit.

Okay, the judge (a Bush appointee, BTW) ruled that under federal law, administration officials are protected from suits related to official duties. Does that include illegal or criminal acts?
If the case does not belong in federal court, then where does it belong – the SC?

I hope some commenters who understand law better thant I do chime in.

It would be interesting to get a legal opinion on what grounds are needed to prove a case belongs in federal court- or if this is just how the DOJ works in the Bush administration.

Actually, his secrecy practices are so thorough that Putin an the old Kremlin gang would be impressed, and Hillary Clinton would appreciate learning what she doesn’t know and practice already.
