I believe that Rick Santorum would be a bad president. I am not willing, however, to believe that congress will grant him the power to destroy the country. Thus, I will hope that Obama becomes president, but I will not run into the forest screaming until Santorum actually accomplishes his agenda.

Meanwhile, I’m allergic to beer. [sniffle, sniffle]

This pretty much sums up how I feel about the entire Presidential campaign at the moment. And I mean across the board, not just on the Republican side:

Those of us who believe that Obama is vulnerable and that anyone who wins the Republican nomination is potentially the next President of the United States, and who are frightened of Social Conservatives of Santorum’s stripe, are not going to sleep well tonight. I suppose the hope of the Obama backers is that this will drive people to the polls just to oppose Santorum, but that’s a mighty big risk. Even if Santorum does have a lower chance of winning than Romney, he’s been going up fairly steadily in head-to-head matchups with Obama in various nonpartisan polls. If odds of an Obama win go up somewhat with a Santorum candidacy, what’s at stake if Obama loses also goes up considerably. I think lefties rubbing their hands with glee at this may wind up crying into their beers in November.
