I was down in St. Louis and someone in my favorite part of town joked with me about a too-typical event in Russia these days:

Q: Why did Safronov strike the ground and die?

A: He didn’t flap his wings enough!

Da.

Russia’s government is simply the meanest, best-armed, best-informed mafiya of all of them. And they don’t limit their play to within Russian territory.

Putin has managed to foster, nuture and continue on the path the Mafioso course Russia has laid out for itself soon after the path of freedom was established by the Fall of the Wall and the infusion of Freedom that event held for her.

She reminds me much of the USA in the roaring 20′s. Corrupt and seeking an Identity. The difference?

The stakes are much higher now then in the 20′s of last century.

Hopefully they understand this. But I think not.
