The MOP(not MOB) is carried on the B2. Current penetrators are much smaller and carried on fighter bombers. Israel has over 100 of the GBU-28. Google this penetrator and Iraq to see how effective this bomb is against bunkers.

The underground facilities are safe against current US bunker busters. The latest MOB isn’t ready till June 2012. Drones payload is way to small for any ordnance required to penetrate the underground facilities. Current ordnance would require days of bombing to damage Iran’s nuke program.

I’m glad BHO is commander in chief. Any republican prez probably would have rushed us into war by now, which means all talk of domestic problem solving would be over. The MSM would have converted to war reporting/cheerleading and republicans would be back in starve the beast mode. All this in the name of “patriotism”.. of course.

Yea, while there is some sentiment in Iran to oppose the current regime it is not that big or organized, and it certainly isn’t going to ride the winds of change on Israels coattails.

This is neo-con fantasy. An attack by Israel would only strengthen the current regime. Even those who oppose the current regime are in favor of the nuclear program and dislike Israel.

If Israel were to start a war with Iran I do not know how that would play out. What about the UN intervention? How would China and Russia vote in the security council? I think if the US supported any Israeli attack on Iran the US would send drones. At least if Israel attacked Iran before this year’s US elections….

The interesting thing is that a couple years ago there was almost a revolution in Iran. An attack by Israel on Iran would certainly cause regime change and would give Obama political cover for sending drones (and perhaps ground troops if the attack is after the election). I think many Americans would be happy to get rid of the Iranian regime which for so many years has been our enemy. Obama could only make a case for war if there were an opposition movement in Iran ready to take control.

I don’t buy it. The Israeli military is against a unilateral attack. The Israeli people are more concerned about blow back than they are a nuclear Iran. Israel does not have the resources for a successful unilateral attack and they know it. They would accomplish little while losing a big chunk of their air force and a large chunk of Tel Aviv.
