Bush & Iraq: Patheticer & Patheticer

Anybody see a surge in there?

Monday:

The White House insisted that Mr. Bush did not intend to change gears. “Don’t expect us to lift a veil and have a whole different strategy,” the spokesman, Tony Snow, said. “We’re not going to have a strategy jumping out of a cake.”

Tuesday:

[T]he White House announced that an upcoming progress report will result in “the beginning of a new way” in Iraq. . . . “What Congress will get this week is a snapshot of the beginning of the retooling of the mission in Iraq,” Snow said. “Everyone says, ‘We want to do it a different way.’ We agree. It’s just now started.”

We’re paying the price now for having the most partisan but least political President in recent history. It may come from a lifetime of never having to struggle for what he wanted, but George Bush just seems temperamentally unable to engage directly with Congress to hammer out the kind of agreements that all Presidents do:

Does it even matter what Snow says anymore??This post and the youtube on Snow’s version of Lugar’s position vs the real thing on camera just serve to demonstrate why the WH has zero credibility even among supporters. Snow will say anything to keep George the “resolute” from losing face in public. This has to be the most Orwellian administration in our history.

Tony Snow is a paid liar. The man could contradict himself in the same sentence without batting an eye or an ounce of shame at his own lack of integrity. He is the perfect face for this administration.
