No, there are many Republicans who don’t descend into hackdom, but Romney brings new meaning to the term through his blatant opportunism and ability to change opinions depending upon which way the wind is blowing. Kind of like Hillary in that respect.
Hewitt is a hack for another and opposite reason: An inability to change his mind when confronted by inconvenient facts that challenge his right-wing dogma. He has plenty of company in that respect, but he is such a blatant suck-up that he deserves special praise.
Isn’t Hewitt the guy who thought up the “Victory Caucus” to threaten any GOP congressman who voted against the war by backing a more conservative candidate in the next election? Hewitt is a right wing fascist.
