What strikes me as the most important part of the story is that the WH backs him.

Ultimately, the responsibility for the crumbling of what was once a legitimate government rests with Bush (and those who suuport him) Criticize Cheney and Gonzalez all you want, but the puppet master pulls the strings.

I never thought I would entertain the idea of impeachment. Now, I fail to see any other way out of this mess.
Instead of anti-war marches, I would love to see a massive ‘throw the bums out’ demonstration.

Has the Veep yet tried to explain not just why he doesn’t have to follow the executive order but also precisely why he doesn’t want to? I mean, we can all guess why he doesn’t want to, but I’d love to hear him spell out for us why the Executive Order from the President is a bad one.

This is one of those things where you can kind of see how an argument could be formed for this position, but if you accept it then amazingly bizarre things must follow. Essentially, there are no rules concerning VP conduct, I guess. If he happens to be following some other executive orders now, it’s just a happy coincidence or kind favor to the Prez.
