A Final Take On “The Soprano’s” Controversial Finale (UPDATED)

Read the always original Josh Trevino’s analysis HERE in National Review.

UPDATE: HBO is now bolstering Trevino’s view that Tony was probably “whacked” in the final ambiguous scene. They say viewers may be onto something and that there were earlier CLUES.

  1. Robert Stein says:

There’s one little problem with this growing consensus that the blackout signifies Tony’s death. If that is what he meant, Chase is too good an artist to have cut out with the camera on Tony’s face. He would have had the camera looking at the room through Tony’s eyes before the sudden stoppage of sight and sound. His history suggests that ambiguity and confusion were his goals, as I suggest in this post:

Is this or any tv show of such import that you must keep blogging about it? This is going on nearly a week already. Isn’t enough enough? It’s not as though we are devoid of any serious issues in the world.

  3. And haven’t I already explained that since its inception TMV has offered posts on many subjects — not just serious ones? If we see lots of news stories on a subject we may indeed comment on it — and that includes not just the usual political Hillary Hillary Bush Bush Bush Democrats Democrats Republicans Republicans stuff but popular culture as well. Go to google and search The Sopranos under google news. I’ll be you’ll see there is a teenie bit of media and reader interest in this topic. Apparently National Review also felt so, since they ran Trevinos piece..
