The controversial Norman Finkelstein has been denied tenure by DePaul University.

When Finkelstein is disrespectful, the disrespect is not taken as being directed just at Alan Dershowitz or Ariel Sharon. It feels like he disrespects Jews qua Jews. And that’s neither insignificant nor a footnote.

Sharon + Dershowitz â‰ Israel
Arabs â‰ Terrorists
Iran â‰ Nazi Germany

While your “equations” may be true, Chris, from what I’ve read of Finkelstein’s attitudes he has never done himself any favors by bringing up his beliefs in ways that don’t seem like attacks on the people involved.
