What is really going on? The West has poured incredibly huge sums of money as well as expended effort of all kinds to assist and elevate Africa for approximately five decades. If anything any new effort should be subject to scrutiny and criticism if it is merely more of the same. Are those currently critical of the effort simply angry because they have the too-typical naive, or downright stupid, belief that simply not enough money has been spent there?

  2. Ashen Shard says:

Some of the money we’ve put in has helped a bit, but everyone who has put money in is typically less concerned about the well being of the people and more focussed on the profits they can reap from the initial investment. The amount that the Western nations have poured into Africa in the last five decades is a pittance compared to all of the wealth we have taken away from the continent for the past 250 years. There is a documentary called Darwin’s Nightmare, and I recommend it to everyone, which highlights present issues faced by the people of Africa.

  3. What? The G8 didn’t solve all of the poverty problem in the entire continent of Africa in two years?

    Shocking, I say! Simply shocking!
