The imagery of Newt Gingrich’s veracity keeps getting worse and worse as does his refurbished image in general. And today it’ll take another big hit because former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney:
With just a week to go before the Iowa caucuses, Mitt Romney said Newt Gingrich’s failure to qualify for the Virginia GOP primary ballot indicated a disorganized campaign effort.
“I think he compared it to Pearl Harbor. I think it’s more like Lucille Ball and the chocolate factory,” Romney told reporters at a campaign stop at Geno’s Chowder House. “I mean, you got to get it organized.”
Romney was referring to an episode of “I Love Lucy,” during which Lucy has trouble keeping up with an accelerating chocolate candy assembly line.
Americans can relate to that. And you can now be sure that the clip below will be shown all over the Internet. There also seems to be an SNL skit to be written here — doing the scene below with comedian portraying Gingrich:
Actually, the entire Republican Party nomination battle in 2011 reminds me of this clip:
It takes a big ego to compare a personal lack of organization and work ethic to the worst attack on American soil -but that’s Newt. 99% ego. What a revealing comment about his character.
I’d compare the implosion of his campaign to the sinking of the Titanic. It was supposed to be the biggest grandest ever- built with ingenious ideas. But it sank like a stone just the same.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would have been better.
Newt as the fat german kid
Michelle as the gum chewer
Herman as the kid that likes TV
Rick as the spoiled little girl
…and Ron as Willie Wonka
will Mitt be Charlie?? i doubt it
With Newt as President, I’m sure we’ll have plenty of televised fireside lectures on how stupid we all are.
