Joe Klein has the same problem all of the DC/MSM punditry has – they think they are losing their monopoly on “wisdom”. We “On Line Pamphlteers” have the nerve to question their pontifications. Are we always correct? No. But we are questioning if the Joe Kliens of the world are always right – the soul source of “wisdom”. They are not.

As someone said on another thread earlier to day, the predominant anonymity of internet discourse really gives you a sense of the hostility normally held hostage just by the veneer of identification.

Huh? Republican politicians are always guest blogging at Red State. And in a sign that defines the depths of his poor judgement, John Bolton did an interview at Atlas Shruggs of all places.

Using sites to “spread the word” is being done on both sides, and is no big deal. And besides those are instances of campaigns using the blogosphere and NOT the other way around.

Esmay does original reporting?

I’ve seen original reporting by Totten, and some of the others, but publishing Swift Boat lies as interviews, and then allowing AIDS Denialists nonsense to be posted is hardly original, nor reporting.

And, aside from TMV, MVDG, Majikthise, Oliver Willis, Rude Pundit, and Stupid Evil Bastard, I read Esmay 4-5 times a week, at least. I’ve never seen original reporting there.

My point (and I won’t do more comments today since I will be gone) is clear: no one side has a monopoly on this. And that doesn’t exclude our own lapses here in the center/center-left/center-right.

It’s funny that you read it as saying “the left is to blame for everything.” I read it as saying “some folks on the left are behaving badly, but it is really Limbaugh and the Republican’s fault.”

Of course the real question for Klein is how the worst offenders of the liberal blogs (i.e the most intolerant and stridently ideological) are driving the presidential race for the Democrats. Here he has a point. The worst offending right wing blogs have never displayed that kind of influence. But, maybe they will in the future.
