Well in 1997 he gradually eliminate the car tax in Va. The economy took a swift downturn in 1999 after Sept 11 but he insisted on going through with it anyway, Virginia went into recession and ended up with huge budget shortfalls, forcing massive cuts in other areas. His economic policy was called "slash and burn economics".

Mine is Gilmore. He pretends that his experience as Governor of Virginia was a positive one, when actually he was such a disaster that they've elected 2 Democrats in a row since! He hasn't done much to speak of since he left the post after the constitutionally mandated 1 term. So he never even faced and won reelection.

The candidate I dislike the most is Brownback. He puts on this disgusting faux-serious face where it always looks like he is squinting.

And he doesn't believe in evolution :-)

The liberals don't want anything to do with Bush either. I don't think Conservatives will be able to make the case that he's closer to Ted Kennedy than Tom Tancredo!

I did watch the debate (about 1/2) and felt that McCain was admirable and strong- if lonely on immigration, Huckabee was charismatic- still getting very little media attention- and Rudy was unlucky- as lightening kept outing his mike when he tried to answer questions about potential conflicts between his religion and his stand on abortion. Romney seemed artificial and kept quoting Reagan too much. Ron Paul made very strong points on the war and overspending. The rest were either very combative- Tancredo and Hunter or forgettable- Gilmore, Brownback and T Thompson.

Most could not find a position for W in their administration, which got great applause. T Thompson said he should not get a job with the UN, lol, and Tancredo said he was turning his back on Bush and didn't want him darkening his door (Rove actually said that to Tancredo when he wanted to give input so it was payback time)
