Yawn. It's simple CIA-bashing, intel-bashing (one has to be almost evil to become involved), US-bashing, using modern Hollywood MTV-attention-span-and-IQ techniques, featuring a lead actor who doesn't act. (The first thing I was asked when I said I saw the movie, by someone, is, "Can Matt Damon act?" He didn't prove it in this movie.) Angelina Jolie was okay to look at, but that was about it for her. Agreed with the first poster that the parts of the movie about the picture and the audio tape were the best (something substantial in the movie!). I’ve seen the film — a group of us went out to see it last December. Yawn. My principle objection was how the intelligence community in general was protrayed. Since I actually worked in the intel community for over a decade I do have some knowledge on the subject. For me I suspect it was rather like a real-life Mafioso watching the Godfather movies. The best part, and most accurate from and intelligence perspective, was the level of analysis that went into figuring out where the picture and audio tape came from. That was really a brilliant portrayal of how intelligence ideally works. The underlying currents were quite annoying, with all the messages of how the CIA supposedly put itself above God, etc. Of course, real intelligence work is usually rather boring, so I guess they had to add some drama and controversy somehow.
