The new design is up and running smooth. Over the next several days, there will be some minor tweaks (speed optimizations) to TMV but nothing affecting the design or uptime. Enjoy!
Can’t take all the credit. Justin Delabar and Lara Chelak at Blog What Design are the creative and visionary force. I keep all the machinery optimized.
Thanks for all the hard work! A very fast look at the matter gives me some impressions:
- The blue background seems a tad bright, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon.
Oh, love the new title with the White House, very chic
- I like the column for “recent posts” “editorial staff” etc. MUCH easier on the eyes
- Is there any way to get comments on a new window, so I don’t have to go back and forth? Not a biggie, since you can always open a new tab.
- The only big issue. google ads and the TMV column added together take up most of the righthand half of the page, leaving the actual posts etc. on the left hand. A bit of a tight fit no?
Will our ‘comments’ get assigned specific comment numbers (/#comment-#####) as before? Being able to bookmark specific comments sure made keeping up with long threads easy.
Tyrone: it looks great!

I better be quiet and save room for Joe!

geez, first comment and I mess everything up. The “love the new title” is SUPPOSED to be at the end.
Since I may sound like a total whiner I should note that all the REST of the features look fantastic.
Very, very nice. Congrats to all on an excellent new look.
Much better than the BLUE TMV, but couldn’t you bring back Joe’s official ‘photo’?
Where is the tags for dummies?
Welcome back… now let’s see, where am I?
Looks real good.
I especially like the new “Comment Numbers” it’s nice to have an easy way reference specific comments… And my Firefox spell check still works!

BadUm, I think that’s The Capitol rather than the White House up top.
Looks great – thanks!

what happen to the left, right, center, and other links?
Yeah, it’s in the NEW Firefox 2.0… just came out last week, it’s great. Unfortunately it doesn’t help with grammar or structure. :]
This looks absolutely wonderful, everyone! Well done!
Tyrone,

Hope you all enjoy this design – I had a fun time creating it. Here’s to TMV looking nice and stylish.
SteveK:
I can certainly set this up. I will get on it later today, it’s a simple feature that works well for huge posts.
Lara-bwd,
Isn’t it nice doing what you enjoy? Its obvious you like what you do… The site looks great!
No need to rush the #comment. I was just making a slow, ‘Sunday Afternoon‘ observation… Thanks for all you’ve done.
Wow…Blog is looking great!
Maybe change the color of web links, the underlined with dots is weak.
How about skippimg the side bar for comments. Or would the ads people blow a gasket?
