What’s Wrong with This Picture?

Bob McCarty writes: (fixed link)

Is it just me or did anyone else notice two things about the “GMA Exclusive” photo above of Andrew Speaker (a.k.a., “TB Guy”) and his wife, Sarah, that appeared on Drudge Report this morning?

He explains:

First, as a long-time writer and editor, I noticed that the words on the “STOP” sign hanging on the door behind them were printed backwards. That indicates the image had been reversed for some reason, apparently by the folks at ABC’s Good Morning, America (a.k.a., “GMA”) before they added their “GMA Exclusive” overlay and made it available to Drudge. A subsequent web search for the photo — printed correctly or as shown on Drudge — yielded no results.

And there is more: Sarah shares a close resemblance to a certain famous American millionare ‘party girl.’

After carefully studying the photo for a couple of minutes I have to agree with Bob: something smells fishy here.

The TB story is an example of poll driven ratings whore media. More people die driving to the airport than in crashes or TB carriers.

Michael, stop sending us to blogs that are so horribly off the tilt into conspiracyland. You’re starting to drift into conspiracy theroies, and your post quality is suffering pretty bad.

    Rudi,
While I do think the media puts a lot of hype around it, there are problems in our system which it does highlight. There is a danger of the spread of super diseases, but the media could do a better job rather than just scaring the pants off of people.
Also, it is sad, and I want to bring this issue up to see what others think, but I was not surprised after this guy got through all the systems set up to find out he was white. One must ask the question if this guy was not white, would he have been allowed to continue?

AS I think his connections and wealth allowed him to do what he did. It wasn’t like he came from the 9th ward. More like OJ and P Hilton. If this happened on a Greyhound bus we wouldn’t have a story.

  5. Rudi says:

Pyst I think the post was meant to be HUMEROUS. Relax, atleast it gives a break from the AS meme.

  6. Rudi: that would indeed explain why I filed the post under “humor”.

  7. A Humerus (upper arm bone) is not necessarily Humorous!

    Thank you schoolmarm Holly. :-)

  9. Pyst says:

Well it isn’t funny at all, your sense of humor, and delivery stinks.

  10. Yeah.

Either that, or you should lighten up and take yourself – and life – less seriously.
