THis is actually an issue I’m interested in this cycle.

I believe the amount of interest, if anything, is underestimated in this country and for this election.

...

The cartoon is plain nonsense. Obama has already announced he has a plan. Hillary Clinton has muttered about health care and we all know she'd try to propose something if elected (hopefully beforehand, so voters have more information with which to judge candidates, even if they mistrust what they're told). Other Dems will, before the election in 2008, make proposals of various kinds. Democrats already in office on the far left have tried "Medicare for All" numerous times (e.g., Conyers, Kucinich). One or more Republican candidates seeking the Presidency will make counter-proposals to that of the Dem candidates before November 2008; one GOP candidate is from a state where a health care plan for the state is currently being put into practice.

The cartoon is plain nonsense. It smacks of the extra-childish members of the far Left who simply want everything "free," starting later today, and let their frustration and ill temper run wild to the point of claiming what is nothing but an illusion and in fact a lie, that the parties are doing nothing?

(Did the cartoonist also attack both parties for "doing nothing" about Social Security reform several months ago, when Bush tried a partial privatization plan and the Democrats were merely obstructionist and did absolutely nothing to save that unsustainable program?)
