Michael,

Given we're talking primaries, McCain's best hope right now is to try and regain some of the right from Romney. However, since his positions other than WOT don't automatically get him there, he's got to go about it another route....go negative.

Personally, I think he's lost the luster he had from 2000 and he's now relying more on bluster.

His immigration stance is going to be a big bleeder for him........it was not a good calc on his part......a guy from a border state could ride anti-immigration with much more credibility and conviction than two guys from the NE.

He reversed whatever small upwards ticks he was gaining after the last debate.

How true, Rudi, how true! lol

They are pretty high maintenance. Romney with his huge entourage who make sure he never has an eyelash out of place, and Breck Girl Edwards with his 400$ hairdos.

Romney small game hunting is as probable as Edwards in a bass boat fishing for large mouth bass. Neither one could stand a bad hair day after a day in the outdoors.

McCain's flip-flopped as well. McCain may be even worse off than Romney, because conservatives still don't like or trust him, even after years of brownnosing at the WH. Now the indies don't like or trust him either. But, imo, Romney is weak on civil liberties- wanting to double Gitmo's size and reduce their prisoners' rights lost him any consideration I would have given him. At least McCain takes a principled stand on torture.

Does it really matter. The Democrats could probably nominate a child abusing transvestite and still win the general election because people are so made at the Republicans.

Shouldn't we really be discussing if the staff would be different at all between a Clinton Administration and the Obama Administration. My first guess is that every white member on the upper level staff of a possible Obama Administrration will be an Ivy leaguer and will have worked in the Clinton Adminstration.

It's pretty easy to make Romney look like a flip-flopper, don't you think?

I'm pretty sure the Democrats wouldn't hesitate.
