What leads any of these people to believe that an Hillary White House would be treated any differently than an Obama White House by the Republican Party, or that it would have substantially different policies?
As a former Hillary supporter, this sounds like madness- even though I believed her to be the most competent candidate in ’08. If Obama steps aside it would be a great boon to the right, who would then have solid evidence of his presidency’s failure and would use it to batter the Democrats– so that it wouldn’t matter who they ran.
Obama’s best bet is to sit back, look presidential and let the Republicans current spate of self destruction finish them off. Their slate of candidates defies credulity.

Sure, Hillary would have encountered the same mule-headed obstruction, but she would have been less republican-lite than Obama.
