		<description>With the average price of $3.18 per gallon, we&#039;ve now hit a record in the US.  The previous record, set in March &#039;81, was an inflation-adjusted $3.15 per gallon.

And it&#039;s especially bad in Chicago, with gas now $3.59 per gallon, the highest average price in the nation.  I counted myself lucky when I found gas for only $3.54 per gallon yesterday.</description>
