New here, self-professed moderate and proud of it, why so few comments on this site? Maybe tied to why I’d never heard of it? Is there writing of a moderate persuasion, ‘a pox on both houses’ so to speak, or just links to all perspectives? Is there a forum? That’d sure be nice;-)
Anyway, funny cartoon;-)
Hi Barney and welcome. Quite a wide variety of perspectives here, not anything uniform. Lots of fine writers and some good commenters too. I’m surprised TMV isn’t swamped with comments, since it’s one of the better political blogs going imo.
I don’t get into comments much but as I’ve noted before to others: on some days TMV gets a lot of comments, on others less. Weekends usually comments are down. There is no “grand plan” to control content on the part of writers but people who are moderate/centrist may and can do veer right or left, particularly in our politics today, depending on the issue or how events evolve. Some columns are run that are more left or right since this site is not one that believes that people must go to sites where they already agree with everything in advance. There will be variety — but it all depends on who posts so at any given moment posts may shift in viewpoint. Posts, cartoons and columns go up all day and a wide variety of writers (many of whom may not post for long stretches) are cobloggers and there are also a batch of Guest Voice columnists of varying viewpoints — but again it is up to them to post. Check TMV during the week for more comments under posts. Saturday is usually the slowest day.
