I have a book about to be published (Their Last, Best Hope) that deals with a similar problem. Given Sandusky’s prolific alleged record. Maybe. It depends on just how many kids he attacked and in what ways.
Is life in prison w/o parole justified? Tough call. I would certainly bar him from being near children ever again (assuming that the charges are true–which I happen to believe).
There are criminal behaviors that cannot be corrected and punishments that never provide enough justice. Life in prison suit’s criminal behavior like child rape well, provided there is no opportunity for parole. As far a s justice is concerned, I can think of many appropriate punishments but unfortunately they have been outlawed hundreds of years ago.
“Would that be justice?”
