Look at the 2008 election spoils. The D’s took over an economy that was in total free-fall and when they stopped that free-fall, they were ‘accused’ of messing up that economy. The 9%+ unemployment figure is an albatross hanging around their necks, in spite of the fact that the bleeding stopped during their watch (well–why haven’t they fixed the whole economy?)

I am not defending the actions taken by the D’s, that would take an entire article and would require pointing out where they went wrong as well as where they went right. I am simply stating that taking over the keys of government during financial distress (or crisis, if the European problems persist and blow up in everyone’s faces) is not always a job that includes thanks.
