If he gets into the race it is possible that he could win the nomination, but most likely will lose the presidency which will cause the Republicans to do some serious soul-searching and figure out where to go from there. Itâ€™s ironic, but they may go back to the Goldwater mold 40 years after straying away from his brand of prudent, organic, humble conservatism.
Dear God, just close your eyes and picture the shrillnes, the sheer volume of talking head screeching that would occur in a Gingrich-Clinton election. I think it would truly make american politics into a sideshow. A he-sad-she-said popularity bashfest that would be more like a high school student body president election than one for the highest office in the USA.

The chattering classes would make many of us normal people so sick on top of seeing those two in the contest that we might well stay home in large numbers on Election Day.
