Fireworks Fail

There’s got to be a political metaphor to be made here:

A technical hitch saw Oban’s community fireworks all released at the same time at Mossfield Stadium tonight, November 4 2011.

The display, which usually lasts around half an hour, barely lasted a minute as a spectacular number of fireworks went off simultaneously.

Chime in TMVers!

Lol, that was awesome! I would have paid bucks to be there for that. I just hope no one panicked and got hurt.

  2. sentry says:

Joe Windish: That’s failure, not “fail” [sic]. “Fail” is a verb.

I was disappointed to see that title; the fireworks weren’t trying to do something (metaphorical descriptions aside).

Someone’s a little out of touch with the internet zeitgeist :)

  4. sentry says:

Not at all, “slamfu.” My statements are correct. Now. if you were trying to hint in addition to what I should be doing instead that the real story ought to be the fireworks and what happened, I agree, and apologize for “sidetracking.”

  5. DR. CLARISSA PINKOLA ESTÉS, Managing Editor of TMV, and Columnist says:

is would be correct either way, fail/ failure

depending on author’s intent re the entire fireworks planned, failing to meet the plan…

just wondering sentry, are you by chance an English prof? We could use one around here, esp for SPELLING. lol

    thanks

  6. sentry says:

I’m not an English professor. I just happen to know English (and a host of other things), that’s all. (I also know that “fail” as a noun is a contemporary fad.)
