    Not at all.

I was under the impression that “E Pluribus Unum” was the national motto.

Now, it’s been clarified. We are steadily working our way into a theocracy.

QF, I still think it’s all about politics. If I truly thought we were in danger of becoming a theocracy, I would be even more disgusted with my country (which I love) than usual.

I have so had it with the GOP saying things like

And if anyone’s wasting time here, it’s Obama. He’s the one running around trying “to push his moribund ‘American Jobs Act’ — the half-billion-dollar spending spree that died in the Democrat-controlled Senate” — instead of considering a GOP alternative that “actually would create jobs.”

What GOP plan? Is there one? Anything? Bueller?

The GOP isn’t even trying. Their whole strategy is “attack Obama”. They care not for jobs or job creation.

It just shows that they have no solutions for the bigger problems we face. Even if they had solutions they would wait for a Republican to be in office, so that their party would get total credit. If you look at recent history the GOP in Congress typically try to play the God, Guns and Gays card right before an election. They believe it galvanizes turnout.

In God we trust, all others pay cash. You’ve seen this sign at stores, I am sure. It was around before credit cards had us “trusting” we could pay our bills, but instead piling on easily acquired debt. Same thing when both political parties encouraged every one to own a house, damn the fact you can’t afford it, trust us it will all work out and we have this great agency (actually just a mismanaged bank) that will create paper to shuffle around the world and all will be well.

Ok, I’m probably going to be shouted at for being a liberal atheist, but isn’t that in violation of the first amendment to pass a law respecting God as our benefactor? Isn’t that what they did when they vote that as our national motto?

  8. dduck says:

As long as you are not a conservative atheist, they won’t holler.
