On April 30, a panel sponsored by The Euston Manifesto (of which I am a signatory) of leading UK Ministers, MPs, and thinkers met in the Houses of Parliament to discuss the future of humanitarian intervention, after the conflict in Iraq. Discussion topics included the recent crisis in both Darfur and also Somalia, the failure of the Left to deal with the arguments surrounding the promotion of democracy and international law, and the future for intervention.
