Wow… and now I am thinking of what my city could do with an extra 1 billion dollars.
As staggering as those figures are, they don’t take into account the tremendous amount of anguish, loss, psychological damage, and human suffering that no price can be attached to. What a terrible and shameful legacy. Imagine all the good that could have been accomplished with those wasted resources.

I see this as an insurance policy.
Keep the suicide bombers busy on their home turf. If the crazy people are going to bomb someone, let it be a well equipped, trained and armored volunteer soldier overseas. Not a defenseless mother and child here at home.
“Insurance policy”? The premiums are not affordable.
