Obama Dedicates MLK Memorial

I would have posted about this earlier but was having connectivity issues.
President Obama today formally dedicated the Martin Luther King memorial in Washington DC. The original ceremony was delayed by Hurricane Irene and the aftermath.
There is something truly fitting that King’s memorial would be dedicated by the first black President. During his lifetime King was denied entry to businesses and persecuted by the government for the color of his skin. Today a black man is the leader of the free world. While I may not agree with every policy the administration has proposed there is still pride in that fact.
Indeed we now judge Obama not by the color of his skin but by the content of his policies.

Meanwhile, in hometown Chicago, police arrest 175 protestors for civil disobedience.
How would MLK respond to that?
Oh but Obama doesn’t have the power to stop it, its out of his jurisdiction, that’s Rham Emmanuel.

Good thing they dont work together daily, or else someone might wonder why they are arresting peaceful protests on the same day of MLK’s dedication.
WOOPS.
Getting arrested is a badge of honor for protesters and actually brings notice to their cause.
As long as it’s not for violent behavior, that is. Then the bets are off.
