The Aussies have been the United States&#039; most consistent ally over the years.  Aussies fought with the US in Vietnam, and in Korea.

More consistent than the Brits...who have always had a love-hate thing for the yanks.

Clearly, as Shaun notes above, not many people think of the Aussies in this regard.  

Perhaps they are better known for their reputation as party animals...which is, admittedly, well deserved.  I met a crew in Italy years ago who were positively crazed.  Great fun.
