I’m not against the death penalty, so I’m a little worried about this. After hearing a woman on CNN, and her side of the issue. My opinion is: That if that’s all they have then the guy needs to die.

I have become categorically against the death penalty. The worst abuse a government could commit would be the execution of a possible innocent citizen.

I wonder when this country will come to realize how barbaric such a judgment is, especially with potential mistakes and inefficiencies and biases in our system of justice.

We seem to be not much above those early American crowds that would pack a picnic for the Sunday lynching, or the early French whose enthusiasm forced public executions into an indoor, private venue. Ah, all will be right when “justice is served.”

What a pitiful place I seem to find my country in as I get more gray in my hair, and as I wonder what kind of people we choose to be as I wish and hope for my growing young boy.

It would not bother me in the least if Timothy McVeigh or worse resided quietly out of the public contact for the remainder of his pitiful and rotten life, if that had been an option.

    JeffP-

Apparently you excuse the barbaric acts criminals commit against the innocent. I can find no excuse for those barbaric acts, so in the name of protecting the civilized public from these murderous barbarians, I say kill the barbarians and let their existence be forgotten.

I can’t support the death penalty until we perfect resurrection.
