In a week when a rapper feels perfectly OK saying that he will never call the police and never cooperate with the police, you want to take away self protection weapons from everyone else.
Baltimore Maryland has a felony conviction rate of less than 33%. Do you really think that banning guns will stop the flow of guns in Baltimore.
Did prohibition for liquor work? Has banning narcotics worked? Yet, people talk rationally about taking away guns from gang bangers, MS-13 and drug runners.
superdestroyer- Prohibition of firearms will work if the State confiscates all property owned by those caught with weapons after the ban. As well, summary executions for those caught with more than one weapon after the ban.
If the “rapper” you describe wants to die by the police, then he may do so. His choice.
In other words, if it requires martial law…then so-be-it.
It is still the Constitutional right of every American to…
The thing is, it IS still a Constitutional right, and that fact that some deranged pyschopath abused this right doesn’t mean we ought to ignore the Constitution.
Also, the NRA bashing gets old after a while. The NRA is hardly the only lobbying group the wields power in Washington. The same people who demonize the NRA are the one who tend to praise the ACLU and vice versa.
We can complain all we want about the control that lobbying groups exert on Congress, but if Congress didn’t have the power to intervene in so many aspects of our lives, there would be no incentives for these lobbying groups in the first place.
I’d like one of these rebored to .358. Practice with cheaper, low-recoil handloaded ammo with lighter .357 Magnum bullets, the use the real stuff for the real fun and games.
(Seriously, necking up the .308 would add to this weapon’s effectiveness in urban combat, such as in Iraq.)

Your views are well outside the mainstream of even those who strongly support gun control. You would turn this country into a police state in order to achieve your utopian world without guns. The problem is, you’re utopian world will never come to pass.

Hey, in Malaysia I believe you get a trial before you’re executed for possession of a firearm or of ammunition. White Agent wants something alien to the USA and to Americans, but not so strange elsewhere. (The Saudis and certain proscriptions, for example.)
And just think, we can bring back stoning without having to involve religious fundamentalists, if that’s what we really want. Or we can hang ‘em from cranes, the way of modern Iran.
The dishonesty doesn’t surprise me.

nicrivera- Banning drugs, alcohol etc.. works real well in Saudi Arabia. Oh they still exist there but….its far to insignificant to worry about.
