Sounds like Sam is calling for more power for the U.N. so that they can be more effective?

I find it odd that the U.N. is in trouble in the comments for calling attention to a problem that needs to be solved instead of being frustrated with the people who can help, know about the problem, and choose to do nothing.

YAY!! Now they can pass some resolution condemning it or something…

The UN is about preventing wars. The UN can only heal situations after the fact if the US is there to back them up with guns and soldiers. So, they are useless in this matter at this point, and unfortunately they were unable to prevent it as well.

He the UN has been talking this for a long time trying to get help.

Given that the USA cause it, its to their everlasting shame that they have completely ignored the issue
