Nobody said:

> DLS I usually dont disagree
> with a lot of what you post

It's too factual. Not that that has stopped others...

> but your dropping the ball here.
> This Implosion which I agree with
> is a result of the USA dropping
> the ball. Moving in with lots of
> foreign investment. Franchising
> Mcdonalds, Wendys, Oil companies
> at the risk of nationalization

That was a real risk and it has happened.

Plus what did we really know how Russia would be like after 1990? Look at Iraq.

> but certainly to prevent the need
> to turn to crime because of a nation
> that has no national identity anymore.

I believe they still have that identity (exemplified in some quite sinister ways by Putin's latest moves and by the far right there).

> This so called implosion could
> have very easily been alleviated
> by the entire west investing in
> Russias future. Instead we
> hesitated at every turn

Yes.

> and constantly told them you
> have to meet certain human
> rights criteria or else we wont
> do x or y or z.

As opposed to when we helped Hussein against Iran and we chose not to care?

>We dropped the ball. Both
> Socially and Politically. The
> morass looked so
> overwhelming that it was
> easier to just look the other
> way and pretend it did not
> exist. Thats what we did and

Did we, or did we just avoid that morass?

> now we have a Russia
> turning to Muslim faith
> to fill 80 years of
> communist Godlessness.

All of Russia, or only some parts?

[...] Pervez Musharraf has unequivocally stated that Pakistan will not allow US forces to operate in Pakistani territory, not in joint patrols or for any other reason. This conflicts with the more blunt assertion from the US, which noted that American forces will follow retreating Taliban and al-Qaeda forces across the Afghanistan border in “hot pursuit” cases (via TMV): President General Pervez Musharraf has rejected “absolutely and totally” the prospect of a joint US-Pakistan military operation to pursue retreating insurgents inside Pakistan.
I disagree. Russia mainly has imploded (fallen apart within, reverting to authoritarian and even totalitarian and criminal government — the government there s the biggest, best-armed mafiya) and that is not Clinton or Bush’s fault.

Many in Pakistan's government are friends of the terrorists. We (USA) are simply not going to do well with Musharraf and will probably do worse with whoever succeeds him someday. That's not our fault, either; we're simply facing some bad people who are zealous as well as violent. The same is true in Saudi Arabia and the nation I worry about a lot, Egypt (while most watch the Saudis). The current Saudi leadership is less friendly to the West than the earlier leadership, and even the predecessors were often bad. Things could be much worse someday.

> Combined Clinton and Bush have totally dropped the ball on Russia.

[...] Pakistan doesn’t want to fight the terrorists. Pakistan won’t allow the United States to fight terrorists on its territory alone. Or together. You wonder which country supports terrorists. And which is an ally in the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban.  And which country has nukes. We worry about which countries have nukes and what’s volatile and everybody forgets about Pakistan. And India. Oy.
Not sure what point your making but pursuing the fleeing Taliban unilaterally without the aid of Pakistani troops is very different then engaging in JOINT operations.

The biggest blunder in USA Foreign policy is not forging strong ties with Russia and helping them with their terrorist issues while maintaining the lefts Human rights violation bullpuckey.

Now we have a Russia moving back towards Communism because among other things their fear of Muslims overwhelming them and a once again every growing loggerheads with the west and especially the USA.

This transpired under Clinton, and continued probably even more so under Bush. Combined Clinton and Bush have totally dropped the ball on Russia.

Now we have a Russia that is going to be majority Muslim by 2050 and their miltary will be majority Muslim by 2015 turning towards strengthened relations with Muslim nations while defying the USA in the global war on terror. It most definitely is a hard war and at times makes one want to throw up their hands but that just cant be done. For our Grandchildrens sake.
