It’s the sheer hypocrisy of the network that takes my breath away. As you say, they didn’t pull the plug until they found they couldn’t contain the “controversy” by suspending him. I’d have enjoyed much more a different solution—seeing him allowed carry on following his suspension, but in restricted fashion, forced to toe the “political correctness” (basic civility) line. Now THAT would have been a penance.

I regret that they’ve made him a pop culture martyr.

I thought the suspension was enough, he seems the most boring and tiresome radio show host.
