I guess that depends on your version of "moderate". Among libertarians, most of us consider ourselves moderate because we do see some need for government regulation (the real kind) and assistance. I think Nick would probably count as the purest libertarian here (not sure on Robin).

As I said (and Joe Windish has documented), the mainstream Republicans will do their best to shove him aside, as usual. But he does seem to be doing quite a bit better both in the Republican polls and against Obama this year.

I'm also a Paul fan, but are there any "moderate" Libertarians out there?

A Tampa classic rock radio station(not talk radio) ran an interview with him this morning. He(Paul) worshiped at the free markets alter, and exaggerated some points about ACA.

I do like that Paul fund raising is all about small donors and not beholden to special interests.

Ron Paul has the same chance of winning the Repugs primary as Kucinich...

I'm a Ron Paul fan. What special interest money do you think he's getting?

Of course, you may be right on the Republicans not supporting him.

The Republicans don't support a candidate out of the mainstream that the backroom power brokers will support. Even McCain earned his turn in 2008 after the slime thrown his way in 2000. Please show an example of a Republican McGovern. Even a Republican Bill Clinton...

The thing that makes candidates electable is the very reason we shouldn't want them: lots of special interest money.
