Lobby reform and government funded elections are indeed on the Democrats agenda. Albeit tamped way down the list by conservatives whom have won an election or two since the early 90s. Yes, taxpayer funded elections should be the Law, the lobby should all but close and the corrupt practice of election buying should be illegal. After all, money merely gives the conspiring corporate entities far more power than the “one person, one vote our constitution grants. IMO, campaign contributions are unconstitutional. Unfortunately though, until the American people gain the power they deserve by electing an overwhelming majority of Democrats, and, instituting just electoral law, we will have to fight fire with fire. Please add that extra amount to Democrat campaigns and raise America above the republican culture of corruption that is closed mindedly stamping out personal freedom in our much loved nation.

Michael, what place does Lincoln's phrase "government of the people, by the people, for the people" have in the context of your article?

It seems to me that the current political process eliminates the first two of the peoples' rights by pricing us out of the game.
