Senator McCain wasn't trying to prove that things are changing in Baghdad, he was trying to save political face for the ridiculous comments he made earlier in the week. Whoever advised him re this needs to find a new job fast. To see the photos of him wrapped up in a flak jacket surrounded by soldiers on the same day that 12 children were killed in a suicide bombing in Kirkuk was pretty sickening and shows, again, that republican leaders are just not serious people. Anyone with a brain knows what this was about.
