The chicago suntimes gave me the recommendation yesterday. Higgins, their normal cartoonist did one essay, and the book was the topic of the other, Here was Higgins, on "I made Jane Byrne cry" http://www.suntimes.com/news/otherviews/321598,CST-CONT-higgins01.article This was the piece I read about the book http://www.suntimes.com/news/otherviews/321595,CST-CONT-cartoons01.article I'm really enjoying it so far. It's a very quick read. I wish I had a scanner, I'd like to show some of them... some of which I can understand, might not be fit for the local paper. Have you seen the book "Killed Cartoons: Casualties in the war on free expression" by Wallis? I'm about half way through. I guess I always realized more went into it, but political cartoons were what got me reading the editorials as a kid. And even as an adult, I often find more truth in the 4x6 box than I often find in a 3000 word piece. That reminds me.
