The shooting down of an American helicopter carrying the elite Navy SEALs in Afghanistan has been described as the deadliest single loss for U.S. forces in the decade-long war in Afghanistan. From text-

[From April to July this year, 2,832 special operations raids captured 2,941 insurgents and killed 834, twice as many as during the same time period last year, according to NATO.]

Either we are very successful or there are a heck of a lot of civilian prisoners whereby there loyalty is an unknown. Which could backfire.

Mostly Navy Seals, many from the same Team 6 that got OBL. Whether or not the men lost were part of that operation, we will never know. My prayers for those lost and their loved ones.

As for our Pakistan raids…Pakistan has no control over those areas. They are completely unable and\or unwilling to stop extremist group training in those areas. The fact that we occasionally venture in should not be surprising…and I am sure some circles in Pakistan are secretly grateful.
