On the one hand, I’m looking forward to reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows but, on the other, it is also a bit sad that there will not be a ‘Book 8′.
I heard a lot about what’s going to happen in Book 7. According to some people Ron and / or Hermione will die. Some even say that Harry Potter himself will not survive the final battle.
Release date is July 21, 2007.

I think these are just the usual speculations, based upon hints that Rowling has dropped about something bad happening. People won’t know for sure until the books begin printing, and some printer manages to get a look-see. Given the vague cover art, it seems clear the cover artist had next to nothing from the plot to go on.
I am thinking that Dumbledore may return. Remember the prominence of the Phoenix in his office, and – of course – the Order of the Phoenix. The symbolism of the phoenix may thus have significance.
This would neatly sync with many people’s view of Snape – who apparently killed Dumbledore – as not being inherently evil.
But who really knows?
ME…I will be avoiding the media and especially the blogs in the days leading up to this summer’s release. The world is filled with killjoys, who want to ruin people’s reads with spoilers.
Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t read the books thus far:
I’m thinking that the last piece of Voldemort is inside Harry himself, so that Voldermort can’t die while Harry lives. That doesn’t mean he won’t figure out a way, but it sounds just about right.
As for Hermione or Ron dying, if anyone does, Hermione will be first. What better way to piss off Ron?

looking back on the first book it isnt as good as the 5th or 6th.

What is really cool about the progression though is that young readers have been able to grow up along with the sophistication of the writing. The characters get older along with the readers and the themes become more intense and age appropriate. My daughter’s been in the age range where this progression’s been in sync for her and we anxiously await the next book (course she’s also of an age where she and her friends anxiously await the next film and seeing the actors grow up too LOL)
Hay, im quite good at guessing whats gonna happen,
i think voldermort split his soul so much and as he went to kill harry he placed the remaining half of his soul into harry, therefore harry will have to eventually destroy himself when he has found all horcruxes, then nevil will have to kill voldemort. this would work + it would be clever to kill off harry as then J.K could definatly finish the storys and people would never ask her to write more Harry Potter books.
any way i don’t really like the cover, is it the american version?
The Spanish press is publishing a different front page, showing all three of the gang and, some sort of door, a whole lot of treasure and Ron with a sword.

harry must die thats for sure. on the other hand i think dumbledore didn’t die and will come back. snape will return to the good side and try to help harry.
i think hagrid is gping to be a big part in this book, he will too try to help harry.

The one with the three on the cover surrounded by treasure is the UK Children’s cover. If you look closely, you can see a grey hand (I’m guessing Voldemort’s) on Harry’s right shoulder. And in the US Children’s cover, it looks like Harry and Voldy are both reaching for something. I’d guess it’s a wand, since neither seems to have one in their hands, and that’s strange, since they’re obviously in a one on one battle that the shadowy spectators cannot get to.

Rowling has stated that another major character will die in the last book. It’s up to the imagination of everyone who pays attention who that will be. The promotion at Borders gives a sticker out when you reserve your copy in advance. One says “Trust Snape” and (I think.) the other says “Snape is Evil”. When I looked at that I thought “It’s not a matter of trusting Snape. It’s a matter of trusting Dumbledore’s faith in Snape.”.

When it comes to passing judgement on Snape I remember the horrible injury to Dumbledore’s arm that neither he nor Madame Pomfrey could apparently do anything to heal. Was it actually something that was going to kill him in the end? Did he decide to sacrifice himself to allow Snape to be trusted completely by the Death Eaters? It’s what occurred to me.
Although I think that somehow, Dumbledore will have some way of communicating with Harry, it is definite that he is dead. Rowling, in some interview (I forget where) said that yes, he is dead.
Also, Neville won’t be the one to kill Voldemort; it says in book 5 that he can’t, because he isn’t actually The One (since Voldemort picked Harry, and not Neville, as his equal).
Has anyone looked closely at the cover(s)? On the UK adult version, there is a necklace with a pendant of some sort on it. And on the US cover, Harry also wears what appears to be the same necklace. Important, perhaps?
If you look at the Adult cover, you’ll see a picture of the pendant. I think it’s Slytherin’s pendant…and if I were to guess, I’d also say it’s one Horcrux.
i think harry is the one who will kill voldemort, and the last horocrux won’t be harry but something which is very close to harry which he likes vey much. And i think that harry and hermone will die. but lets see what j.k.rowling tells us in her last book.
Dumbledore has to be dead because in the sixth book it said that his spell on Harry, had been released, so he had to be dead because that’s the only way a spell could be stopped without the person who cast it called it off.
OK… I dont believe Harry can die..
If you read the books, you can see its all told from Harry’s perspective, that is to say that, if Harry is to die, the books will just suddenly end. Like, he’ll feel something hit him, and that’ll be it. I cant see Rowling finishing the books of like that.
Unless of course Harry comes back as a ghost, but I doubt that.
It seems that as she said “TWO” characters will die, one of them obviously has to be Voldermort–”Neither can live while the other survives.” The other, is however, a harder one. Im thinking it has to be someone close to Harry, coz nothing ever goes right for him. Perhaps Ron?

well Black is dead and so is Dumbledore and we can bet that Hagrid is going 2 di in the 7 book but i nmot sure about Ron and Herimone so we have 2 wait for the book to come. i cant wait !!! :
People think Harry is going to die but i dont because becasue when Black died he feel through the veil, well harry is going to kill himself by going through the vei which no- one has ever done. Harry then is coming back alive and kill Voldermort (hey!!!!) the scar is an horocrux so when he goes thorugh the veil and come back the v will be gone.

i think your wrong about the veil because you said that black fell into it, and noone can come back out so that would make no sense if harry fell through and came back out that is not going to happen. as for the last horocrux i think it will be something harrys parents left him
